In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to care for your candle — from first light to final glow.
🔥 1. Let It Burn Fully the First Time
When you light your candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface. This can take around 2–3 hours, depending on the size.
Why this matters:
A full melt pool prevents tunnelling (where wax builds up along the edges), meaning your candle will burn evenly and last longer.
✂️ 2. Always Trim the Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to around 5mm using a wick trimmer or scissors.
Why this matters:
A trimmed wick helps the candle burn with a cleaner flame, reducing smoke and soot. It also prevents the flame from becoming too large or flickering.
⏳ 3. Limit Burn Time to 4 Hours
As tempting as it is to let your candle burn all evening, we recommend a maximum of four hours per session.
Why this matters:
Overburning can cause the jar to overheat or compromise the wax integrity. Allow the candle to cool and reset before relighting.
